Product detailed description
SENSECOM-OMN-E
Reads-out consumption data from Power Meter or other metering device using optical reading interface defined by IEC 62056-21 mode C. Active tariff registers are automatically detected (consumptions, event. supply) within few readings, read and sent periodically. Data are sent via LPWAN nationwide NB-IoT network using built-in antenna. Please check NB-IoT network coverage at your location prior purchase option with NB-IoT SIM with one of coverage type for the NB-IoT or eventually option without NB-IoT SIM.
Battery
- Powered by LiPol battery with occasional recharging via USB-C connector (charger is not included).
- Endurance ~1 year to the next recharging (e.g. 4 registers, 15min readouts, data sent 8x a day).
- The device can also be permanently powered via USB-C or recharged from a power bank for uninterrupted use.
SEAMLESS installation
using just magnet attachment - no screws, just hang on the meter after charging (automatically switches on when charged). No specific skills required.
Data transmission
Data can be transmitted over NB-IoT at each reading or collected and sent at less frequent intervals to save battery use.
You can limit the number of times data is sent by not sending values that have not changed. A suitable numerical order can be set for comparing changes in values to filter them out.
Billing power meters application
- The use of SENSECOM-OMN-E on billing meters may be restricted by the energy distributor. The SENSECOM-OMN-E model with a limited set of registers (consumption, supply and S/N number) and a minimum reading time of 15 minutes is usually accepted by energy distributors, this model SENSECOM-OMN-E to be considered in common use cases.
- Check that your meter type is equipped with an IEC62056-21 optical interface (~3cm circle or rectangle, with double holes in the central circle).
Usually works with vast majority of power meters for measurement category C4, formerly C, usually not applicable for AMM meters category C1-C3, or for measurements of higher consumption category A or B, which have already built-in wireless communication. Some power meters can not be read due to push-button activation of the communication (eg. ADDAX NP7 series) and some of them are password protected (iTron ACE1000 and ACE3000 series). However, majority of lower consumption rates meters (for most households and small commercial, industry companies) are readable.
NB-IoT and SENSEPARAM portal flat rate options:
You can choose from the suggested NB-IoT network coverage or no NB-IoT SIM option, and optionally SENSEPARAM portal data access multi-year flat rate that best suits you:
- NB-IoT multi-year flat rate: 10 years / 500MB or option without NB-IoT SIM (no flat rate)
- SENSEPARAM multi-year flat rate for single-user license, L1 user rights: FREE for the duration of the NB-IoT subscription
- SENSEPARAM multi-year flat rate for multi-user license, L1-L3 user rights: 10 years, 5 years or 1 year for the duration of the NB-IoT subscription
If you want to use other flat rate combinations, other service options/prolongations, devices from other manufacturers, you can select the standard subscription or flat rate as a separate product. You can also select the different model SENSECOM-OMN-E-NS with no subscriptions (without SIM), where you will use your one NB-IoT SIM, you still can use SENSEPARAM data access portal (SENSEPARAM multi-year flat rate) or you will do your own data deparsing and transformations directly from NB-IoT UDP packets on your server (you can use SENSEPARAM portal to permanently switch routing of UDP packets directly to your sever).
Typical use cases:
- Daily or more frequent power consumption/supply monitoring or daily profile monitoring.
- Monthly pre-payments adjustments, monthly/seasoning payments based on actual consumption.
- Leased facility/space utility consumption billing.
